The name Isadorino Gorye is based on word play referencing to Isadora’s name, who is recognized as the pioneer of modern dance and Russian children's fairy tale Fedora’s Gorye (Fedora’s Sorrow). Founded in 2012, Isadorino Gorye Cooperative is a dance cooperation initiated by Aleksanda Portyannikova and Daria Plokhova. They are independent dancers and choreographers with an academy background who are doing stage performances, developing site specific choreography pieces as well as interventions in the public space. The training for Escapism. Training Program will be prepared by one of the members, Daria Plokhova, and will take a form of Laboratory of Local Empathy. Laboratory of Local Empathy is dedicated to research of relationship with the city. As the artist describes herself, ‘I occupy the space and the space occupies me as well, borrowing me, saving me for the future, using me in a full capacity’. During the Laboratory of Local Empathy with the usage of contemporary dance instruments and somatic techniques, participants will collectively experience existing relations with the space and create new ones.
